Organisation Committees
The responsibilities and functions of FAWOAM are carried out by an Executive Committees, 10 Working Committees and 11 State Association Members and a permanent Secretariat.

Executive Committees
The Executive Committee comprising 15 elected members and 6 appointed members, is the highest governing body of FAWOAM. Presided over by the President, who is assisted by a Deputy President and 3 Vice Presidents, it is responsible for all policy issues and matters of importance.

Working Committees
Ten Working Committees have been appointed by the Executive Council, each of which is responsible for a specific area of activity. The areas covered by these Working Committees includes:
  1. Trade Committee
  2. Technical Training Committee
  3. Collision Repairs Committee
  4. Towing Committee
  5. Complaint Bureau
  6. Disciplinary Committee
  7. Trade Ethics Committee
  8. Public Relations Committee
  9. Members Welfare Committee
  10. Recreation Committee

State Association Members
A network of State Associations is maintained in most of the states in Peninsular Malaysia and the East Malaysia states of Sabah and Sarawak. Most of the individual states in Peninsular Malaysia have their own State Association, except for the East Coast states of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan where it is cover by the East Coast Repair Association based in Kuantan. In East Malaysia, Sabah has its individual State Association. For Sarawak, by virtue of its size, FAWOAM State Association Members are located according to Divisions of the state. Currently, they are represented by Kuching, Sibu and Bintulu. The associations in the divisions of Sarikei and Bintangor in the process of applying for associate memberships.

The existence of these State Associations has enable FAWOAM to render more effective services to members at grass root levels. These state associations are managed and governed by their individual associations' constitutions, and their management committees are elected by their members situated within their respective states. State Associations are primarily responsible for resolving the local state problems.

Each state association is entitled to appoint 4 delegates to represent them at FAWOAM General Meetings. Every three years these appointed state delegates are eligible to stand for elections to the Executive Committee of FAWOAM.

The Secretariat
A Secretariat, head by an Executive Secretary and assisted by 2 supporting staff, is established to provide staff support to the Executive Committee and the various Working Committees. Besides this, the Secretariat is responsible for the day-to-day operations of FAWOAM, as well as its liaisons among the State Association.
